Collector's Guide
Product Lines
Hasegawa's mecha kits draw on the company's experience with scale models, translating original design art into parts that assemble cleanly and accurately.
- Metal Armor Dragonar XD-01 Dragonar-1 1/72: Kane Wakaba's mecha, based on Kunio Okawara's original design art. It stands about 26.8 cm tall when built, with snap-fit construction that needs no glue and parts moulded in colour, including the shin stripes. Polycap joints and sliding ankle joints allow stable, two-handed poses with the Hand Railgun. The kit includes laser swords, assault knives, a Hybrid Shield, throwing bombs, interchangeable hands and decals.
Why Collectors Rate Them
A scale model maker brings a particular discipline to mecha. Hasegawa's kits favour accurate proportions and well-engineered parts over gimmicks, so the finished model looks like the design art rather than an interpretation of it. Snap-fit construction and colour-moulded parts mean a satisfying result straight from the box, while builders who want to go further have a sound base for painting and detailing.
