Metal Build Ikaruga: Knight's & Magic Preview
Written by Zero Variant · Published
The Ikaruga is the Silhouette Knight that Ernesti Echevalier designs and builds for himself in Knight's & Magic. Bandai Spirits has now made it a Metal Build figure, under its Tamashii Nations collector brand.
This preview covers the design, what comes in the box and when we expect it to reach the UK.

Who the Ikaruga is
In Knight's & Magic, a programmer who loves robots is reborn as Ernesti Echevalier in a world where giant machines called Silhouette Knights are piloted into battle. He sets out to design his own. The Ikaruga is the result. It is the strongest Silhouette Knight in the series.
What stands out in the design
According to Bandai's product page, the figure stands about 21 cm tall and is made from ABS, PVC and die-cast metal. Here is what is worth knowing beyond those numbers.
An arranged design by the anime's mecha designer. Hidetaka Tenjin, credited with mechanical design on the Knight's & Magic anime, arranged the design for this release. Bandai points to the engraving on the gold armour and the ceremonial streamer on the shoulder as design elements made for the Metal Build version.
Die-cast where it matters. Die-cast parts are used in the joints and armour. The blue is moulded in Ikaruga's signature colour, with plating and paint for the gold.
Six arms. Besides its main arms, the Ikaruga has four sub-arms on its back. Bandai designed the articulation specially for this figure. Each sub-arm can hold one of the four gun-swords.
Launched hands. The sub-arm hands can be displayed launched on the four included lead wires.

A seated display. The seating base parts let you display the Ikaruga seated on its stand, as well as standing.
